The Birch is a medium-firm mattress, since that’s most most sleepers tend to prefer – it’s not too hard, nor is it too soft. But if you do prefer a softer or more firm mattress, then perhaps this isn’t the ideal choice for your sleep needs and this is the only option for the Birch mattress (contrary to the typical personalization of Helix mattresses). In general, however, especially with the cover, it’s very comfortable, although it doesn’t have the same body-conforming components that latex and memory foam mattresses do.
